Question Time viewers hit out at Fiona Bruce as they issued the same complaint about the presenter. The BBC programme returned to screens on Thursday (September 25) evening with Bruce, who was joined by a number of politicians to debate and address questions from the studio audience. Reform UK's Richard Tice and Labour's Lisa Nandy repeatedly butted heads as they discussed the introduction of the controversial Brit cards and whether they will stop illegal immigration via small boat crossings.
During the debate, Tice and Landy furiously clashed and repeatedly spoke over each other as they attempted to get their point across. Bruce was forced to step in on several occasions, but fans felt this wasn't enough. Slamming the BBC host online, one fumed: "I'm Fiona Bruce, my job tonight is to allow Mr Tice to interrupt Lisa Nandy as much as possible. I love my job." A second raged: "It would be really nice if Fiona Bruce would do her highly paid job and properly chair #bbcqt That rude b*****d @TiceRichard constantly talks over other panelist's and Bruce sits there and does f**k all to control him."
Echoing this, another posted: "If Fiona Bruce did her bloody job properly, then the supercilious, ignorant t****r that is @TiceRichard wouldn't be able to constantly talk over other @bbcquestiontime panellists like he does."
A fourth added: "Richard Tice really likes his own whiny voice. Whenever he is on QT he talks over every one. I'd rather listen to people who have a clue. No one else gets away with it so why does Fiona Bruce let him."
Another weighed in: "I watched the Lisa Nandy show last night, Fifi just let her ramble on and on and on without ever answering a question. Interrupting her waffle only to attack Tice/Reform. Labour know they have already lost the next election."
Nandy insisted the Labour government is tackling immigration at "every single angle".
She said: "Beware of any politician who tells you that when it comes to getting control of immigration, there is one single solution. We are coming at this from every single angle, disrupting the gangs, supporting people who have the right to be here..."
Before she could finish, Tice interrupted: "We know that disrupting the gangs is not working." The furious Labour MP hit back: "I'm sorry Richard, you've had to say a lot about it this week and it's a different story each time."
The pair clashed and continued speaking over one another before Bruce interjected: "Lisa, can I just bring you back to the question about ID cards ... will it be compulsory?"
Nandy explained that she could not "pre-empt" Keir Starmer's upcoming speech, adding: "What I can say is, beware of these snake oil salesmen who tell you that there are simple solutions. If there were simple solutions, they would have been done by now."
But Tice hit back: "Which is not ID cards," prompting Nandy to point at him and declare: "Don't buy what this guy is selling."
Forced to step in once again, Bruce reassured the MP: "Richard, I'll come to you in a minute, just let me go around the panel."
