Man United 'concerned' what Ruben Amorim will do next amid sack pressure

Manchester United's co-owners, Ineos, are reportedly worried that Ruben Amorim might opt to step down before being dismissed in an attempt to preserve his managerial reputation. It's suggested that the British billionaire is keen to maintain his long-term vision for United and doesn't want to rush into another dismissal. However, there are concerns within the club that Ineos will have no influence over the situation, with some insiders convinced that Amorim is likely to depart United of his own accord before being dismissed by Ratcliffe, due to the relentless criticism he's faced following losses.

The United boss reportedly views these as 'knee-jerk' reactions and is taken aback by the increasing scrutiny during his tenure. Despite the ongoing speculation about Amorim's future, it's understood that no successor has been identified for the Portuguese head coach.

No managers are believed to have been approached by United to replace Amorim, although Ratcliffe remains a fan of Gareth Southgate after his successful spell with the England national team. United are back in action this Saturday when they welcome high-flying Sunderland to Old Trafford.
