Countryfile viewers expressed their frustrations after being left disappointed with the results of a major competition. Those enterting the 2025 Countryfile Photographic Competition had to follow the theme of 'Wild Encounters', showcasing their best images of natural landscapes or the creatures that live within it.
The best twelve photographs entered then made up the Countryfile Calendar for 2025, which featured in Sunday (August 31) night's instalment of the BBC programme.
John Craven, Hamza Yassin and Maggie Aderin-Pocock gathered to judge the images that were entered, which included everything from wildlife to picturesque landscapes.
However, fans flooded the programme with complaints as they felt "underwhelmed" by the winning snaps.
Taking to social media, one wrote: "Why is it every year there's always a picture of a mouse in the final twelve, even if it's underwhelming."
Another said: "After seeing so many amazing entries for the #Countryfile calendar competition, I found myself somewhat disappointed with the final 12."
Responding to the post on X, a third echoed: "My thoughts exactly. Not many of those would pass the 'do you want to look at it for a whole month' rule."
A fourth weighed in: "Anyone else slightly under whelmed by this years photos?"
