Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is all set to continue his County career in England. Northamptonshire County Cricket Club confirmed that Chahal has re-signed with them for the 2026 season. He will represent the club in both the One Day Cup and the County Championship.

Impressive Record in County Cricket

The 35-year-old spinner has already made a strong impact in English domestic cricket, taking 31 wickets across his previous County Championship stints in 2024 and 2025. Northamptonshire expressed excitement about his return, saying Chahal’s experience and skill would provide a major boost to their campaign next season.

Chahal and Coach on the Return

Chahal himself shared his delight, calling Northamptonshire his “second home.” He said he was eager to contribute to the team’s success again next year. Darren Lehmann, the team’s head coach, also welcomed the news, calling Chahal an important player whose statistics highlight his match-winning ability.

Chahal’s International and IPL Career

Although Chahal last played for India in August 2023, he remains one of the country’s premier white-ball specialists. In international cricket, he has taken 121 wickets in 72 ODIs and 96 wickets in 80 T20Is. His performances in the Indian Premier League also continue to underline his reputation as a reliable wicket-taker.

With another County season lined up, Chahal is expected to further refine his red-ball skills while continuing his impactful presence in white-ball formats.
