Urinary Problems: Frequent urination at night? Men can suffer from this serious illness; be careful in time, or else...

Send Push

Many men experience urinary problems as they age. Frequent urination, difficulty urinating, or a feeling that the bladder isn't emptying completely can all be caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia, an enlarged prostate gland.

What is BPH?

BPH is a noncancerous but serious condition. It causes a man's prostate gland to enlarge, pressing on the urethra and obstructing urine flow. According to the United States National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, approximately 50% of men over the age of 50 have some degree of BPH.

6 Risks of not getting treatment

Delaying treatment for BPH can lead to urinary tract infections, bladder stones, and kidney damage. It can also affect work, sleep, and social life. Your doctor will take a medical history, uroflowmetry, a urine test, and a prostate-specific antigen test.
