CP Radhakrishnan was a two-time MP from CoimbatoreChandrapuram Ponnuswamy Radhakrishnan i.e. CP Radhakrishnan, has been a two-time MP from Coimbatore (1998 and 1999). He was born on 20 October 1957 in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. He has been a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and is currently the Governor of Maharashtra (from 31 July 2024 till now). Earlier, he was also the Governor of Jharkhand. He was the Governor of Jharkhand from 18 February 2023 to 30 July 2024.

CP Radhakrishnan is also called the 'Modi' of Tamil Nadu. Assembly elections are due in Tamil Nadu next year. Before this, the BJP had made a big move by announcing his name.

Candidature can be withdrawn till 25 August. Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from his post on 21 July, citing health reasons. His term was to end in August 2027, but he left his post before that.
