'I tried to book Lapland UK for my family of four and was floored by price'

A mum has lashed out at the cost of visiting Lapland UK in Manchester this Christmas, insisting it will set a family of four back well over £500. Megan Beasley sought fellow parents' opinions after looking to book for November 15, 2025 - which she calculated would cost an eye-watering £579.65 for her family, leaving her stunned.

"Nearly £600 for a day out," she said in a TikTok video. "That doesn't include food, drink or anything else while you are there - it's literally £600 nearly just to get in." Megan also condemned the "cheek" of imposing a booking fee alongside a postage and packing charge of almost £8 to receive the tickets in two lots of £6 invitational boxes.

"The worst thing is, this is for a day in November," she continued to rant. "It's not even the most expensive date there is... it's one of the cheapest."

  • Remove patio moss and algae for good by spraying 1 natural ingredient that stops it growing back
  • 'Charming' English-speaking island where winter is 22C and '300 days of sunshine'

Megan concluded by asserting she could "go to the real Lapland" for a comparable price, which she branded as "insane."

Lapland UK describes itself as a "fully immersive theatrical experience for the whole family," which runs for up to four and a half hours.

"After receiving invitations from Father Christmas, children can hardly contain their excitement as they count down 'sleeps' until the day finally arrives when they realise every child's dream of making a magical journey to snowy Lapland to meet Father Christmas and the Elven world," the website declares.

Upon arrival, guests are invited to help the elves make presents in Father Christmas' Toy Factory and decorate biscuits with Mother Christmas, before enjoying activities such as ice-skating, writing letters and meeting the reindeer and Father Christmas in his snowy log cabin.

Responding to Megan's video, one TikTok user wrote: "Daylight robbery. I feel like it's cheaper to get on a plane these days."

Another hit out: "Not a chance I'd pay that. I'd rather go to Disneyland."

A third person admitted: "I thought that WAS Lapland for that price."

Whilst a fourth mused: "Imagine paying for this and your kid deciding today's the day to play hell and not enjoy it... the devastation."

However, others championed the expense, branding the adventure as "magical" from experience.

"It's worth every single penny honestly, if you've been you know why it's this much, it's unreal, if you can afford to I recommend you do," one TikTok user said. "Everything about it is just unreal, I've never experienced a more magical place in my life, you'd fully understand if you'd been why it's charged so much."

A second agreed: "100% worth it. we'll do it again next year. Hot dogs are a bit pricey though!"

Similarly, a third added: "We've been twice, and it is 100% worth it. If you've not been you really can't say why it's that much. Real Lapland is 10x the price."

Meanwhile, a fourth parent chimed in: "I'm a single part-time mum and went last year and it was worth every penny and booked again this year. Children only believe for a short period of time so making it magical is so worth it and you definitely can't go to the real Lapland for anywhere near that."

Currently, the most expensive tickets available at Lapland UK are for bookings on 20 December. On this date, families should anticipate paying £180 per ticket for each adult and child aged one or over.
