Zoho To Enter Consumer Payments With Zoho Pay

Send Push

Foraying into the consumer payments segment, SaaS unicorn Zoho is reportedly set to launch a consumer payments app Zoho Pay. Zoho Payments Tech CEO Sivaramakrishnan Iswaran told Moneycontrol that the new product will allow users to send and receive money, make secure payments, allowing for seamless transactions.

The app is currently under internal testing and will be rolled out over the coming months. As per company sources, Zoho is yet to finalise a date for the launch of its latest fintech offering. Once launched, Zoho Pay will be available both as a standalone app as well as within its messaging app, Arattai, allowing users to make transactions without leaving the chat interface.

The Arattai integration of Zoho Pay was unveiled by Zoho cofounder and chief scientist Sridhar Vembu earlier this month. In a post on X on October 8, Vembu unveiled Zoho’s first all-in-one PoS device, smart PoS device and static QR with soundbox, to expand its fintech offerings under Zoho Payments.

“As part of our broader push in global fintech and payments, we have partnered with NPCI’s NBBL to address real business challenges and strengthen India’s digital payments infrastructure,” Vembu said.

Besides, Zoho’s fintech rollouts included payout capabilities, virtual accounts for collections, and marketplace settlements during the sidelines of the Global Fintech Fest 2025 in Mumbai earlier this month.

Important to note that Zoho received the final approval for its payment aggregator licence in February last year. Following that, it forayed into the payments space with the roll out of Zoho Payments.

The company’s fintech arm, Zoho Payments, now comprises a comprehensive payment solution tailored for businesses in India. Integrated within the Zoho ecosystem, it enables acceptance of payments through various methods, including UPI, credit/debit cards, and net banking.

The company’s fintech push would also see it expand into lending, broking, insurance and investments in the near future. Moving beyond the fintech stack, Vembu has erstwhile noted that Zoho is working on gaining capabilities in critical technologies like cloud infrastructure, semiconductor, compiler technology, application, and user experience.

Besides the fintech push, the most recent breakout launch from the house of Zoho has been its messaging app, Arratai. Buoyed by endorsements from ministers, the messaging app has witnessed a significant surge in user adoption in 2025, from being a niche app launched in 2021 to recording 48 Mn downloads on the Play Store alone this year.

Launched in 2021, but seeing a revival recently, Arattai, which means chitchat in Tamil, is preparing to rival WhatsApp and other messaging apps that have several times more users around the world.

While the latest financial numbers for the company aren’t available, Zoho’s revenue crossed the $1 Bn mark in FY23. The unicorn clocked an operating revenue of INR 8,703.6 Cr during the year, up 30% from INR 6,710.7 Cr in FY22. The Chennai-based company’s net profit rose 3% to INR 2,836 Cr from INR 2,749 Cr in FY22.
