Cashless transactions are increasing continuously in the country, and people are using UPI a lot. One needs to be cautious while using it. If this is not done, the bank account can be emptied.
Cashless transactions have increased since demonetization. Now most people directly transact through UPI. Whether it is paying college fees or paying the bill after eating food, UPI is being used everywhere. From students to professionals, everyone is transacting through UPI. Because of this, cyber criminals also keep an eye on UPI. They wait for the smallest mistakes of people. As soon as any mistake happens, they immediately empty people's account. Therefore, it is important to keep many things in mind while using UPI.
Do not tell UPI PIN to an unknown person
Never tell your UPI PIN to any unknown person on phone call or at any other place. By doing this, you give them direct access to your bank account. Also keep in mind that no bank official will ever ask you for your UPI PIN number for any work. If someone is asking for your PIN number by claiming to be a bank or government official, then you should be careful.
Pay attention to pay request
There is a pay request option in UPI. Usually, after choosing the UPI mode on the e-commerce platform, these companies send pay requests. After clicking OK, the payment is done. If you get a pay request from an unknown person or site in the same way, then reject it.
Be careful while scanning QR
Not every QR code is for receiving payments. Many times, fraudsters trap people in their net by using fake QR codes. Therefore, be careful while scanning QR codes installed in public places. If you have the slightest doubt anywhere, then make payment by other means instead of QR code.
Use only official apps
Always use official apps for transactions or other works. Never download any app from a link sent by an unknown person out of greed. Apps downloaded from such links can steal your important information and passwords.
